Mint Italian micro mosaic pill box tile 1930s Silver ?

A rare difficult to find extinct vintage Italian micro miniature mosaic pill box This beautiful collectible has the following measurements: 1/2 inch in height and 1 1/2 inches in length.  A little less to be exact.  As pictured, the marking is etched ITALY on the bottom of what seems to be a silver like material.  If anybody can tell us more about the exact material utilized, I will gladly post it for everybody's benefit. I was told by antique conossieurs that Murano Glass tiles are utilized and flowers are formed.  Tuscany in particular embraces the symbolism of flowers.  The lower box is working well and intricately adorned with Romantic and Renaissance design figures that complement the top portion perfectly.  The metal may be pewter with silver plate according to other auctions I have seen but I do not know for sure.  Inside seems to be quite good as I hope the photographs will illustrate.  

I do not see any missing tiles, any discontinuation, chips, inconsistencies in color or texture.  Clasp seems to be working quite well upon observation and actual delivery of action . Murano Mosaic Artisans have mastered this fine craft.  I remember visiting their art studios and workshops in Venice and was quite impressed to be sure.
