However, it is the near-blind Buddhist nun living alone in the pagoda atop one of the karsts in Halong Bay who might hold the key. She has written all her life - as a journalist, advertising copywriter, screenwriter and novelist. Di's first book, 'Heart of the Dreaming', set in Longreach, was published in 1991. Di believes the success of her novels is due to them being written about and for, Australians. Di's love of her country, her insight into issues confronting all Australians, has led her to include within her mass market, popular fiction novels, powerful themes - heritage, love of family, Australian identity, protection of the environment, reconciliation and awareness of Aboriginal culture, men and their search for spirituality.
