It has been used as a drink coaster and has 3 cup rings, which thankfully hasn't gone through to cover.
Lots of tears and pieces missing and a big mark where the colour has been leeched out of the paper and price clipped.
Overall a good used copy
The Mayor of a provincial village is shot by a 24yr old girl, who is arressted, and charged and tried with pre-meditated murder. The trial develops into an indictment of a dead man and of the living who, long ago, had joined him in a conspiracy of silence.
Its climax is a classic exposition of the dilemma of the Law and of the servants of the law - whether their function is to maintain public order or to administer moral justice.
But this isonly the first level of a series of conflicts and exposures of vivid charecter and subtle motives. The man who defends her, is he who destroys her and comes near to destroying himself.

Very Good - a used book that does show some signs of wear, but no tears.

Poor / Reading Copy - a very worn book, that has all of its text pages in place and is still legible but its only merit is to be read.
