Jane Avril is remembered on this handbag and shoe set.  She was a dancer at the Moulin Rouge in Paris and various other dance halls and cafes on the Champs Elysees.  Toulouse Lautrec used Jane as a model for his posters of the nightlife of the city.   She was easily identified with her red outfits and can can dance kicks.  This handbag has metal handles, a striped dance floor painted on one side and Jane Avril performing for the audience on the other side.  The shoes are a porcelain trinket which can be displayed beside the bag or stored inside.  The box measures about 3 1/8 inches high x 1 7/8 inches wide x 1 3/8 inches deep.  It's marked inside with peint main, Limoges France.  It's a numbered edition, this one being 187 of 750.  It's new in a white gift box with a certificate of authenticity.
