The NE5532 is the preferred op-amp of Douglas Self, Cambridge Audio designer and author: see http://www.dself.dsl.pipex.com/ampins/webbop/5532.htm, with THD < 0.001% all the way to 20kHz and beyond. NE5532 is the dual version of the NE5534 and difficult to obtain in small quantities. 8-pin dual in-line (DIP) format. An ideal replacement for the TL072 found throughout the Quad 34 and 44 pre-amplifiers. Single NE5534 also available, same price, replaces the TL071, LM301 etc in the 405, 306, 606, 707, 909.
