Calibration of the Accu-Chek Performa strip
Recent recommendations by the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry have been adapted in relation to the Accu-Chek Performa strips. These recommendations require blood glucose meters to report results that are equal to the results produced by the laboratory. As you are aware, laboratory results are always higher than the finger-prick glucose results by around 10-15%. Therefore, although patients are testing capillary whole blood (finger-prick) the Accu-Chek Performa is intelligent enough to convert this to results that are equivalent to the laboratory values. Therefore, you should expect higher results with the Accu-Chek Performa if you switch from another whole-blood calibrated glucose meter.

Test Strip Features

Fast test time - The test time of 5 seconds makes the Accu-Chek Performa system one of the fastest on the market

Small blood sample - Accu-Chek Performa test strips only require a tiny 0.6µL sample

Re-dosing capability - The system indicates if more sample is needed and permits re-dosing within 5 seconds

AST capability - In addition to fingertip and palm testing, the user can test from the forearm, upper arm, thigh or calf

Large easy-to-handle, 'touchable' design - Test strips are sturdy and well constructed to help reduce strip waste and minimise the need to retest
