On offer is a VINTAGE COLLECTABLE - BRAND NEW Apple TCP/IP Connection for Macintosh - Single-user license (Apple p/n: M8113Z/B). This software is brand new and still in original factory shrink wrap. The retail box does have a few minor marks and box crushing where it has been pressed up against other items whilst in storage The TCP/IP Connection software package provides the most current version of MacTCP, Apple's TCP/IP stack software. It also includes industry-standard Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) support for Macintosh system software and the MacTCP stack. The TCP/IP Connection package includes: * The latest MacTCP stack, which provides compatibility with all current Macintosh computers and system software versions, as well as support for all third-party network adapter cards that have their own control panel icons (MDEVs) or device drivers (.ENET and .TOKN drivers) * Ethernet and LocalTalk drivers. MacTCP had integrated LocalTalk and Ethernet drivers that support built-in LocalTalk, built-in Ethernet and Apple Ethernet cards, including the Apple Ethernet NB card, the Apple Ethernet LC Card and the original Apple EtherTalk NB Card. * Token Ring drivers, which provide MacTCP support for all Apple Token Ring Cards, including the Apple Token Ring 4/16 NB Card and the original Apple TokenTalk NB Card. * MacSNMP software which consists of a configurable SNMP Manager and three SNMP agents. The SNMP Manager permits reports on a comprehensive range of information from each Macintosh computer. The SNMP agents support the following Management Information Base (MIB) definitions: -TCP/IP MIB-II (RFC 1213) -The Macintosh System MIB (defined by Apple) MacTCP implements the following protocols: * IP (RFCs 791, 894; MIL-STD 1777) * UDP (RFC 768) * TCP (RFC 793, MIL-STD 1778) * ARP (RFC 826) * RARP (RFC 903) * ICMP (RFC 792) * BootP (RFCs 951, 1048) * RIP (RFC 1058) * DNS (RFCs 1034, 1035) * Internet Subnetting (RFC 950) * Internet Assigned Numbers (RFC 1340) MacTCP complies with Requirements for Internet Hosts-Communication Layers (RFC 1122) and with the Standards for the Transmission of IP Datagrams over IEEE 802 Networks (RFC 1042). System Requirements MacTCP stack software * A Macintosh computer with an appropriate Ethernet or Token Ring interface or a LocalTalk connection * System 6 (version 6.0.5) or later and at least 1MB of memory, or System 7 (version 7.0 or later) and at least 2MB of memory * Installation via either a 1.44MB floppy disk or an AppleShare server MacSNMP * A Macintosh computer with System 7 (version 7.0 or later), at least 4MB of memory and a hard disk * An appropriate SNMP console that supports TCP/IP such as those available from DEC, HP, IBM, InterCon or Sun Microsystems Note: The AppleTalk Connection software is necessary to run SNMP over AppleTalk.
