It is a great way to encourage your child to build and thus enhance the development of maths and science skills.  It is great as it reinforces physics concepts like magnetism and geometry long before kids are taught them at school, thus providing a great rich foundation on which later learning can build. This Swiss design gives far more flexibility in building design than some other kits. We have this geomag system and magnetix in our home and the kids build using bits from both sets but I prefer the Geomag as the panel insets provide greater stability than the comparable pieces of magnetix, because the rods can also slide through the centre of panels, where as the magnetix gets very heavy when building larger structures and tends to collapse more easily (This is a MAJOR frustration for the kids!).

I do have boxes of other panel inserts if you're interested at the same price so please email me to purchase them. In each shape you can get different colours (ie. red, blue, yellow, clear) and you can get different panel shapes (ie. diamond, triangle, pentagonal etc). Some panels are large (like the pentagonal) and some are small (like the triangles), so the number in the box differs accordingly.
