What is Steamboat cooking?
This style of communal cooking originated in Mongolia and is now popular right through south East Asia.
It consists of a simmering pot of stock at the centre of the table and a large platter of assorted meats and vegetables, thinly sliced. To accompany this a variety of Dipping sauces should also be offered.
With the help of Chop sticks or tongs, cut pieces of food are dipped into the simmering broth, extracted, dipped into a sauce and eaten.
IT is recommended, for health reasons, that the same chop stick are not swish and eat.
After all the food has been consumed, it is suggested that some pre cooked, thin noodles of your choice, be dropped into the broth and enjoyed as a soup.
