REDUCED ITEM LISTING - You will not pay near the origional MSRP of $1600 for this unit. You will not even pay $600-$900 as listed by other eBay seller's. Reduced because it is not packed in the retail box and because it may have been a display unit as it was aquired thru retail liquidation by the supplier. Sometimes a store display may have a minor flaw; I cannot see any flaws. Item was described by supplier as an "open retail box" item. However, upon receipt it was not in the retail box, but in a similar size packing box. Again, the scanner may have been a display and have some minor imperfections, but I was unable to see any flaw which would deter from the unit. We do list flawed items at a reduced Start Bid and Buy It Now price should there be any significant flaw(s) and any "significant" noted flaw would be described and a photo taken for the listing. The Start Bid and the Buy It Now reflect these very minor issues. Please note that similar which may not even be fully inclusive of all parts, especially software are listing from $600-$800. You receive all the same components for immediate operation. The Axis Server is packaged in a seperate box. Axis Server support and use can be found on the Axis web site and instructions for use easily downloaded from Axis support ( I do believe they also have phone support available). I am usually able to offer significant technical support on the scanners we offer, but I know nothing about networking, or server information and will be unable to help should you need technical support. Using Axis Server as a "digital sender" a PC is NOT required for these operations; simply scan and send using Axis Server. Owner's Manual is also located on the install disk by clicking Support and Troubleshooting after installed. Bonus Software with this setup includes Adobe Photo Shop Elements, Read Iris Pro OCR and Scansoft PaperPort 10. Paperport is a complete office filing system program for creating a "paperless office"; included software is a value of up to $400 alone. The Axis Server alone carries an MSRP is $800. THE VISTA INSTALLATION SUITE FOR WINDOWS WILL NEED TO BE EASILY DOWNLOADED FROM HP.COM/SOFTWARE AND DRIVERS; VISTA AND UPDATED XP OPERATING SYSTEMS.
WOW!, WHAT A DEAL! This "dual feature" scanner not only gives you all the high end options of a "high end" scanner, but also gives you the versatility of an expensive Digital Sender which can even be used without a computer. With the included Axis Server and the installed 7650 Network Firmware you can eliminate mail, faxes and expensive document courier's by simply "digitally sending" your scanned documents over a network. A Digital Sender alone could cost up to $3000 for only a unit used for digital sending. The included Scanjet 7650 is "the last" manufactured full featured, yet more compact ADF scanners taking up much less desk space. It is bound to become a "sought after" model because of the compact size. This is an absolutely "smokin' deal" as prices on this scanner "new" could actually increase. Don't let this offer pass you by! The Scanjet 7650 was introduced after the Scanjet 5590 offering a higher resolution and still a more compact design. Designated as an upgrade and model replacement for the 5590, the 7650 continues to offer a more compact scanner, taking up less desk space as well as an increase in the resolution capacity to 4800x4800. The 7650 offers exceptional specifications; duplexing, ADF, high resolution. Hp will only
redesign/replace an earlier model which has had a "proven track record" of superior performance and exceptional customer satisfaction. This is an "exceptional price" for this model having an origional MSRP of $1000. New larger models offered currently have a lowered resolution capacity to 2400x2400, truly an example of "newer is not always better." By offering a lesser quality a manufacturer can lower manufacturing costs, boosting profits.
Serial Numbers: Scanner base/body holds a designated HP serial number plate. Automatic Document Feeder also has a different/seperate HP serial number plate. On NIB Scanners with an ADF, HP not only maintains the basic serial number of the scanner found on the box UPC label, but also has a record of the corresponding ADF attached to this particular scanner setup. Where applicable/available these serial numbers are photo archived in the event "any problem" should arise with this item, or ANY question regarding a refund issue related to a complaint of "not as described", or "item received not working." Serial numbers are denoted on the "shipping box label", your shipping notification and as on the listing copy you receive. Photo serial number documentation is maintained with the "listing archive photos" for a period of three months.

Scanners originate from HP Reseller; out-stock. These are "open box stock," or no retail box. They are NOT "used." This is the 7650N Network Capable, High Resolution, photo quality, 4800x4800 Resolution, 48 bit ScanJet by HP. The 7650 is built as a professional, heavy duty, high quality scanner; one of HP's "workhorses." The 7650 is like a miniaturization of the 8250 and 8290 (not having a legal sized scanning bed). Not to worry though, the 7650 will not only DUPLEX, but will also scan and format legal documents using the ADF. Unfortunately, I do not know "anything" about digital sender's, or networking and will not be able to give you any type of "user support" for this unit. I do suggest the potential buyer, or buyer use the hp website, support and troubleshooting for any further information on this unit. This scanner was also built as a photo scanner as well as document scanning and formatting. To scan slides and negatives, simply insert either slides, or negatives into the XPA adapter; set the template on the scanning glass, place the xpa in the cut-out area, choose "scan using xpa" from the scan menu and "whala" you have your slides and negatives scanned to edit with the included software. Photos are simply grouped on the glass, select a "preview scan" and then, using the curser to outline, scan and save each individual photo; the ADF is NOT intended for use as a "photo feeder." Now, you can save, edit, or email your slides and negatives which have been covered to digital photos. You can perform high quality scans of photos which are now digitalized to save, print, or share. Built for quality and durability to give years of service. Being new, this is an investment for "years." Again, it was designed also for photo quality scanning (4800x4800dpi) and produces "excellent" photo quality scans. THIS IS A GREAT DEAL FOR A DUPLEXING SCANNER WITH ADF WHICH RETAILED FOR $1000. Again, this is a terrific bargain for someone not obsessive about having the retail box which is discarded anyway. With this "complete" setup you also recieve some VERY nice Bonus Software including the "full version" of Read Iris 11 Pro OCR Software. This software transforms scanned documents into editable text and photos. No more tedious hours of retyping corrections. Simply use the software to scan a document and then edit only changes that are needed, not the entire document. Also included is the "full version" of Scansoft's PaperPort 10 for XP and Vista and Adobe PhotoShop. The PaperPort software enables any scanning to saved into a complete, paperless office filing system. These three programs alone are a value of up to $450.00!

There was an error in the origional listing had you read this listing first time listed. The unit is new, but has been removed from the retail box which was evidently damaged and was received only packed with the all the origional packing from the retail box including the foam forms securing each side of the scanner in a similar sized shipping box. According to my supplier, the retail box was to have been packed inside of another box for shipping protections. I just opened the box for inspection and testing and noted that the retail box is missing. Because the listing was less than 24 hours until "auction end" I was not allowed to revise the listing. The listing has now been revised in the relist and pricing has been adjusted to reflect this issue. Thank you.
