Bachelor Kisses is a comic story of modern love and life when you're 20-something, single and male. It is the mess Jon Marshall makes of his life when it stops making sense - a comedy of fallibility and misjudgements.
Jon, Rick and Jen share takeaway food rituals, sporadic cocktail nights and the quest for love. Rick seems destined to long, lonely nights beneath his Porky Pig doona. Jen consumes men like chocolate bars. And Jon gets lucky in a way he's never expected - more women than he knows how to handle. A medical graduate with grand plans for the hormone of darkness, he finds his life is spiralling way out of control.
As with all good comedy, Bachelor Kisses includes the themes of science, death, inappropriate behaviour and injudicious intimacy. It's comedy, but it's not lightweight. It has a story, characters who are a lot like real people, and plenty to say about hamsters, rocket design, ambivalence, ambition and contemporary definitions of maleness.
Nick Earls has a gift for capturing the quirkiness in regular lives, and the desperation in regular crises. He writes not so much dirty realism as untidy realism, dealing with people whose lives aren't grubby enough to be dirty, but there's something of the shambles about them nonetheless. Bachelor Kisses is a book for the members of the chemical generation who can't even take a Sudafed without spinning out.

(But seriously, I wouldn't sell anything to you that I would not be happy to receive myself.)
All books are in the condition described, and to the best of my knowledge are not missing any pages or damaged in any way, apart from (perhaps) a few dog eared pages!) Most of the photos of book covers used have been derived from various websites, however they are exactly the way the cover looks. I happen to be a terrible photographer, and have found this way gives you a better idea of what the item is.
All clothing items are washed but not ironed as, no doubt, you will want to re-wash your items before putting them on your children. I try to represent the colours of garments accurately in my photos, but they may vary slightly from what your monitor depicts.
I am happy to combine Post, so please check out my other items! I have so many beautiful things coming up over the next few weeks, so take advantage of this first time mum who bought WAY too many clothes for her baby girl and read every book known to man!!
