A travel book disguised as a novel, a fascinating meditation on journeys and stories of travel. Robert Dessaix is one of Australia's most innovative authors and this book is placed in travel because there is an actual journey to Italy and Switzerland undertaken and described but there's much more to it than that. This is a hardcover of 276 pages; some of the gilt on the dustjacket is starting to wear, there's a previous owner's name inside and a slight tear on the first inside page - otherwise very good.
