Here is an excellent example of this rare lens by Nikon.

It is the AIS version with internal focussing and ED glass. I bought it in 99% mint condition a couple of months ago and have used it on two occasions for bird photography. It's still close to that condition the only mark is a scuff on the lens hood as seen in photo 4. Optics are clean and clear, no mould or fungus, the lens surface is pristine.

I am selling as I want to try my hand at extreme wide angle photography so it's no longer needed.

I've used the 2.8 and can tell you this lens is more than half the weight and can easily be carried around to take advantage of 'point and shoot' style photos.The bird pic was taken using a Nikon d40x at f5.6 handheld as an example.

Please email with any questions. All sales are final. This is a manual focus lens will meter in manual mode on D200, D300 or higher cameras. On a d40, d40x, d80, d90 etc will not meter. You need to set the shuter speed and f-stop yourself taking a test shot and adjusting the exposure accordingly after checking the camera's monitor.
