For auction is this NIKONOS V Underwater Camera Outfit. New it would have set you back somewhere between $3,500 and $4,000.00.
You have possibly seen pictures taken with NIKONOS cameras in National Geographic, more diving magazines than you can shake a stick at and countless other magazines. The NIKONOS has been the underwater camera of choice of world renowned underwater photographers. -------------------------------------------------------------
It is the camera that is used by PROFFESSIONAL Underwater Photographers, happy snappers and divers all around the world. I purchased it from the original owner over a year ago and had it checked over and serviced by 'Poraday' in NSW, 'THE' NIKONOS people in Australia.-------------------------------------------------------------
It is in EXCELLENT condition and although I bought it to replace my outfit that I sold some years back, I have never had it underwater......... much to my dismay!
I fear my diving days are almost done and I thought I might as well give someone else the opportunity to own and use it to take pictures that simply put, cannot be beat. This outfit is all the underwater photographer could want:-------------------
NIKONOS V body with standard Nikon Nikkor 35mm 1:2.5 lens for land or underwater use - serial # 736565--------------------
The absolute king of Underwater Lenses the Nikon NIKKOR 15mm 1:2.8 wide angle lens for underwater use only - Serial # 214021------------------------------
Genuine NIKON Viewfinder for the 15mm lens.--------------------------------------
Nikon SB 102 Speedlight with base plate, standard arm plus extension arm and sync cord + diffuser.--------------------------------------------
Macro tubes 1:1, 1:2 & 1:3 for extreme close ups in less than ideal visibility conditions.-------------------------------------
Spare Orings + neck strap for land or U/W use + all instruction manuals for the 15mm lens & viewfinder and the NIKONOS camera body +standard 35mm lens + NIKONOS book (considered by many to be the NIKONOS bible) by JIM CHURCH.--------------------------------------
If you are into diving and taking U/W pictures, you simply will not get the quality of crisp, clear shots that you will get with the NIK V with 15mm lens. I have seen NIKONOS U/W shots blown up to AO size in the past (that's 1189mm x 841mm) That's an area of around one square metre. Don't get me wrong......... it takes a bit of practice, but for crisp sharp images, you just cant beat it.
With all the hype over digital cameras and quality of image (they now say that 22 megapixels might come close to emulsion film) to put it bluntly, NIKONOS is still the KING. Get on the WEB and look around. The 15mm lens is worth almost $2,000.00 on it's own.
This outfit is truly a regrettable sale and I can honestly say that I have not seen another NIKONOS V outfit in better condition. It has NEVER been flooded and is clean as a whistle inside. I will pack it with great care and send it to anywhere in Australia for $35.00 or if you have a preferred freight company we will work it out. Whatever method of shipping is worked out, you will only pay what I pay. If it's less than $35.00, so much the better.
If you are looking for the absolute best insurance and protection for your NIKONOS outfit, you can't go past the Pelican Protector Case. If you keep looking on EBAY you will find a Pelican 1550 Protector case which as it happens, is orange, and also contains foam with cutouts that bear a striking resemblance to cutouts that would suit a NIKONOS V outfit just like this one.
Anyway, this is a genuine sale and if you have any questions at all or would like some more pictures, give me a yell and I will be happy to oblige. It is in Adelaide so a local buyer is welcome to pick it up or come have a look at it for that matter. But be warned, if you do come to have a look at it, bring your tissues because if bidding has started, you will just have to bid along with everyone else and if you have any shin guards, they might be handy as well because if you miss out, you will be kicking yourself. A local buyer is welcome to pay Cash on pick up but my preferred method of payment is bank deposit because this safeguards all concerned.
If you are a diver or photographer or both, looking for the best underwater camera money can buy, dont hold back, put in a bid. ------------------------ This outfit is worth the starting bid for the 15mm wide angle lens on it's own.--------------Did I mention that the 15mm wide angle lens is worth around $2,000.00 on it's own.------------- You could buy it for the lens and use the rest as spares.----------------- Anyway, good luck with your bids.
