Author Biography: Noel's background includes Directorships of private, public sector and educational boards and committees. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Fellow of Australian Institute of Management Consultants and a Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute. Noel is also the designer of the Top Steps Career Development series, The Ultimate Step (a unique programme to assist participants with personal career planning and self-development strategies for attaining senior executive status and/or directorships) and The Board Step. In 1993 Noel was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia "particularly for advancing the development of women in management". In 1999, the Victorian Government's Office of Women's Affairs formed a partnership with the Waite Group to run the VicWomen Directory to promote womento government committees and boards.
