On offer is an original and authentic woodblock on paper printed in 1923 from an early rare original circa 1913 wood engraved block by Norman Lindsay ( 1879-1969 ). This is a superb and exceptional image by Norman Lindsay. Pease note this is an original woodblock and not a reproduction of one. Full recognised authenticity detailing the history of this work accompanies the sale of this woodblock. This woodblock I offer was printed on a paper page from Norman Lindsay's original circa 1913 wood engraved block for a rare 1923 issue of Art in Australia which covered the revival of woodblock art and this woodblock has the 1923 letterpress as issued on the front and reverse confirming authenticity. This publication due to the ravages of time like fires, floods or discarded as waste etc, etc is extremely scarce As further authentication, I emailed Odana Editions who own the copyright to all of Norman Lindsay's graphic works including woodblocks and they have ackowledged by email that this is a genuine Norman Lindsay woodblock printed from Norman Lindsay's original hand engraved wooden block. Odana Editions handles the publishing of Norman Lindsay's graphic works and books etc and is an affiliated company of ' Bloomfield Galleries '. Bloomfield Galleries are the World authority on Norman Lindsay, and have a direct and respected association to Norman Lindsay's relatives. A copy of this email will be sent to the buyer. Woodblock is supplied to archival standards mounted in cream, framed in a quality black matt finish, decorative carved timber with inner silver gilt dotted line and glazed ready to place on your wall. Image of woodblock measures approx 10.4 cms high x 12.6 cms wide with outer page larger. Outer frame measures 32.5 cms high x 28.5 cms wide.
