Magnesium is very important for the normal functioning of cells, nerves, muscles, bones, and the heart. Usually, a well-balanced diet provides normal blood levels of magnesium. However, certain situations cause your body to lose magnesium faster than you can replace it from your diet. These situations include treatment with "water pills" (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide), a poor diet, alcoholism, or other medical conditions (e.g., severe diarrhea/vomiting, stomach/intestinal absorption problems, poorly controlled diabetes).

Magnesium is a mineral that is critical for energy production and metabolism, muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission and bone mineralisation. It is a required cofactor for an estimated 300 enzymes. Among the reaction catalysed by these enzymes are fatty acid synthesis, protein synthesis and glucose metabolism. Magnesium status is also important for regulation of calcium balance through its effects on the parathyroid gland.

Potassium Aspartate is used as a mineral transporter to the metabolizing cells, aiding in metabolic process by replenishing potassium. thereby contributing to efficient production. Potassium when associated with l-aspartic acid independently interacts with various substances in the body and participates in various physiological processes. Potassium aspartate is a safe, tolerant bioavailable delivery form of both potassium and aspartate moiety, both of which play a vital role in human nutrition in general and sports nutrition, in particular.

Taurine is a non-essential amino acid and is found in high concentrations in the white blood cells, skeletal muscles, central nervous system as well as the heart muscles. In adults, but not children, this nutrient can be manufactured from methionine in the body and from cysteine in the liver, but vitamin B6 must be present.

Taurine is a key ingredient of bile, which in turn is needed for fat digestion, absorption of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E & K) as well as the control of cholesterol serum levels in the body. (It is incorporated in the bile acid chenodeoxychloic acid, which emulsify the dietary fats) This nutrient is also used to ensure the correct actions for potassium, calcium as well as sodium in the body, and for maintaining cell membrane integrity. It is thought to be helpful with anxiety, hyperactivity, poor brain function and epilepsy as well as hydrating the brain. Taurine, together with zinc is also required for proper eye health and vision.
