The Beauty of this Native American Beaded Sheath and Hand-Knapped Knife is beyond words!

"Osalita" is a well-known Cherokee Artist that makes incredible Beaded Sheaths and this Sheath is no exception!

The Sheath is made of Genuine Brain-Tanned Doeskin, which is a Native American technique of tanning that makes leather particularly soft and supple.

It is also an expensive quality that has a nice smoked smell.

Absolutely stunning Hand-Stitched Beadwork makes this Sheath highly collectible by itself!

The Artist decorated this Sheath with Genuine Mercury-head Dimes that were converted to buttons!

It has aged tin combs in a one-inch fringe around the rim.

The leather strap is 14" long with 2-1/2" twisted fringe extending past the rim.

The sheath also has a 5-1/2" beaded tail and two twisted leather fringes reaching a further 5".

The sheath features blue, maroon and lemon yellow beads lazy-stitched in angular patterns.

Hand-made by a Native American artist and signed "Osalita".

Also included with this Gorgeous Sheath is

MATCHING Hand-Knapped Knife by Cherokee Artist Bear Paw!

The Artist handmade this Gorgeous Knife with "Red Sierra" Stone that matches the Red Beadwork of the Sheath!

Red Sierra is an AMAZING stone that looks Black at first glance but turns a Beautiful Ruby Red with fantastic red lines under light!

This Gorgeous Blade is attached to a Heavy Deer Antler Handle with the artist's hallmark on the end.

Total Length of the Knife is 9"

Blade is 4 1/2" Long and 1 1/4" Wide

Janice "Osalita" Biography

Janice "Osalita" was born in Texas and raised in Arizona. Her parents are both artists who worked secular jobs and raised Janice and her sisters in a

normal Christian home. From the first time she was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she said, "An artist."

She began the craft of Scrimshaw in 1977 and with help and advice from her father, also a Scrimshander, she progressed from making necklaces and

earrings to larger pieces that required three months to complete. Her best pieces of ivory Scrimshaw are in the private collections of long-time

customers. Janice continues to produce this work at special request.

Years later she began to produce beadwork, starting small and working up to the more difficult pieces. She takes great effort producing the most

natural Native American utilitarian items such as pipe bags, knife sheaths, purses/bags, amulets and clothing with genuine reflection to the past.
