NATIVE GARDENIA - AN ATTRACTIVE PERFUMED TROPICAL THAT PRODUCES EDIBLE FRUIT
GENUS ATRACTOCARPUS FITZALANII (SYN RANDIA)

Atractocarpus fitzalanii (Syn randia), commonly known as Native Gardenia, yellow Mangosteen or Brown Gardenia is a tall rainforest shrub from the coastal understory of tropical Queensland.

It is an evergreen tree with large, dark green, glossy leaves borne opposite one another. Clusters of highly perfumed, small, white, star-shaped flowers to tubular flowers are produced along the stems of female plants in the spring. These are followed in the autumn by large yellow fruit to 10 cm in diameter, which are edible when soft.

Best in tropcal and subtropical climates, native gardenia prefers a warm, sheltered site in full sun to semi-shade with moist, well-drained, light to medium soil. It is frost tender.

This auction is for 100 fresh seed. Item shipped by ordinary mail upon receipt of clear funds. Postage cost of $1.50. ***Save 50% postage & handling on additional lots that are combined for shipment.

We will be adding more to our range of auctions in the near future so please be sure to keep an eye open. We also have listings for white flowers, cut flowers, drought tolerant or drought resistant flowers, flowers and trees that will grow in full sun, dappled light and shade, that are fragrant or aromatic, that grow indoors, outdoors, in baskets in tubs, or just in the ground.

As always our seed is fresh and professionally cleaned to give you the very best germination rate. All lots are accompanied by propagation/care notes. Feel free to email us with any queries.

Happy bidding.
