Welcome To The Animal Natural Remedy Series These books are a effort to preserve the documentation of Natural Remedies used in the treatment of animals. In the past 100 years most of these treatments have been lost, especially in the treatment of cattle one of our most ancient of farm animals. If you have any old and effective remedies which you don't want lost to history please send them to me so that they may be included in the updated appropriate book. Other reasons for writing these books is that I hate vet bills and people having to kill their animals for economic reasons which I myself have been forced to do in the past.. The books are laid out in such a way as to teach you the correct use of Herbs eg thinking in body systems such as the Respiratory System or the Nervous System and in using herbs by their Medical Actions rather then that herb worked well last time. Next we move on to the Homoeopathic Remedies for the condition which have the details to allow you to select a similar remedy. Homoeopathy is a good form of treatment for animals who usually respond to it fairly well and also it is very cheap to use and very easy to medicate unlike the herbs. A lot of effort has been put into the symptom details as it is very hard trying to diagnose when the animal cant answer your questions, so here you have to be very observant. The First Aid book is the Reference for the series and in the herb section it concentrates on the historical use of that herb in animals and now comes with a CD with a medical dictionary, Herbal and Homoeopathic Materia Medica and much more so now you have in one place everything you need. Introduction This book is meant to be used with the Animal First Aid book for this is the main Reference that goes with my series of booklets. This Reference contains a Herbal Materia Medica which has in it most of the Herbs that have been mentioned along with a write up on their Actions and historical usage, it also includes another section that gives Herbal Actions with their meanings and the herbs that cause that action. This Reference will also give you a write up on some of the main Homoeopathic remedies. The main body of the book is divided into the body systems eg Digestion, Nervous System etc. In every system we go through the main conditions with the symptoms being accurate and in detail followed by the Herbal Treatment and then the Homoeopathic Treatment. If the whole herd gets some thing refer to the Vitamins and Mineral section as there is probably a Deficiency in the flock. At the end of each chapter their is a Herbal Overview to that system giving all the herbs and actions that are commonly used in that system. Natural Remedies For Sheep was written for many reasons, the first being a quick Reference for myself and the second being the need for a cheap and practical alternative for the hobby farmer or a similar type of person to use instead of what I always had to do years ago which was dust off the rifle after finding out what Veterinary care would cost me. Another concern is the vast amount of Herbal knowledge which has now been lost to history which is staggering considering the thousands upon thousands of years man has been herding Animals and nearly everything has been lost in the last 100 years but still that is not surprising we are a throw away society after all. Now we will move onto Homoeopathy which has been used for hundreds of years in the treatment of Animals and is a cheap and effective form of medicine. With Homoeopathy it is Like Cures Like (not vaguely similar) so try to match one of the Homoeopathic Remedies mentioned to the symptoms your sheep is showing , due to lack of space I have kept the write up on the remedies brief but tried to steer you in the right direction with the remedies mentioned but you may find it easier if you went to the library and got out a Homoeopathic Reference which gives you more information about a individual remedy. This booklet shows you alternatives but it is up to you to use your own common sense in deciding what to do. I would advise you research each remedy thoroughly before its use especially the Herbal Remedies as Homoeopathic remedies are fairly safe to use.
