Painting 2 of the journey!
A week late but Ned arrives in Sydney. For some reason the old FJ would not start. Perhaps that is why Ned found it abandoned near Uluru. Any way, Ned assumed it was abandoned, it is not as though he hasn't rustled up some horse power in the past that happened to be sitting in a paddock. That aside, he thought he may head for the iconic, Sydney Harbour Bridge and pick up some souveniers of the old coat hanger. Whilst away from Victoria, he also thought he may partake in some Sydney "culture" and sneak into the theatre to watch a lip syncing American shiela named Britney Spares. Next week, Ned heads for the Gold Coast in search of treasure.
Ned's FJ Journey is a compilation of all that is uniquely Australian. Ned's journey will be told in 10 prints, each altered by painting in another Aussie icon plus other areas to make it unique. This amazing journey will take 3 months with a new (1 of) print/painting available to followers every 2-3 weeks. The final altered print will be completed on Australia Day, 26th of January, 2010. For those who are from other parts of the world and may be following Ned's journey, let me take this opportunity to briefly describe the elements in this painting. Ned is arguably Australia's most notorius bush ranger (outlaw). The FJ Holden is to Australians, the same as the T Model Ford is to Americans. Ayres Rock, I prey, ........needs no explanation. Quality acrylic paints have been used in a way to promote vivid colurs, worthy of the Australian outback. The rust effect has been layered over a black helmet until the desired effect is achieved. At times, a rough textured cloth has been used to achieve the dimpling effect. Check out the Harbour Bridge!!!

I live to paint. The energy behind my work is relentless. It drives me to push into new frontiers every time I pick up a new canvas. The image selection, medium used, process and paint strokes are all influenced by the day to day challenges life throws up to me. Come on all of you "watches" make a bid, you know you want to. This painting is the first (of a series of 10) and will no doubt be the cheapest as the others sell and attract further interest. Someone has already expressed an interest in buying the lot in one hit. I doubt if this has been tried before, by any other artist. If this is the case, then you can see that i am willing to think outside the square. If you know of someone who has painted a progrssive series based on the exact painting preceeding it , and over a limited number (known in advance) then email me. I will post it as an update. This is your chance to own something which is different in the art world and for sure, it will be inexpensive. Admire it on your wall for years to come and relish the offer you may get from a collector at a later date. Push the boundaries or sit on the fence, you choose.
