Very Compact Computer with Everything to start up.

 

Do you want to be able to use your computer from another room in the house or would like to access the internet without leaving your comfort zone. This little package will allow that complete with instructions.

 

This package comes with a very small computer terminal. You will need a computer monitor or a Television that supports computer (VGA) input plus a keyboard & mouse. If you do not have this contact us for advice.

 

The built in operating system is a scaled down version of Windows called Windows CE which will allow remote control of other computers on your network running Windows 2000, XP or Vista. With the integrated version of Internet explorer you may also browse the internet without a connection to another computer.

 

What is It and What Do I Need

 

These client are built for use as terminals (think of mainframe terminals)  where it just processes video and non intensive data and all you need is a decent connection to the host.

 

Your home computer may stay on somewhere else in the house. With this you can access that home computer anywhere else you see fit to lay a network cable.

 

All you need to go for it is you existing ADSL Router with a spare Network port. If you do not have a Router or a spare network port or simply need more advice contact Netcad.

 

Connect your new package to the Router and you have instant control to your existing computer (the screen your computer displays will display on this terminal) with software already available with Windows.

 

If you do not want to bother with remote access this terminal also has Internet Explorer for web browsing. NB: Some internet features such as embedded video are not available.

 

Possible Applications

 

As item is very small it would be ideal for the following

 

  • Hooking it up to a TV with VGA Input where computer is located in another part of the house or there is limited room in the cabinet. This would allow you to do your computing needs with the touch of a remote control.

  • A small computer for the kids room. To limit it simply turn off the host computer. As unit has limited browser embedded support for videos and Audio they are less likely to encounter inappropriate material.

  • An internet kiosk/cafe to minimise on capitol and maintenance costs. With the addition of a Terminal Server or perhaps a Citrix Server you can lower your total cost of ownership and centralise your administration, support and upgrade of your platforms. Contact us if you would like more inoformation.

  • XWindows client against a Unix based platform. Some hardwiring may be involved.

  • Distributed database client, for example an ODBC client on a SQL backend. Some hardwiring may be involved.
