Neumann KM85 microphone with clip, cable and box. 

In excellent condition, this microphone has the smaller DIN (Teuchel) connector giving the reduced length over the KM85i with XLR connector. 

The body is Serial No. 14996 and has the -10dB switch, giving a maximum level capability of 130dB SPL (0.5% THD at 1kHz) .

The capsule is engraved with "85" and the cardioid and low frequency rolloff symbols (see photo). 

This is a condensor microphone and requires 48v phantom power (offered in most modern mixing consoles)

The mic comes complete with 2m DIN to XLR lead, stand clip, and plastic case (these items are not Neumann). It has been tested and sounds great.

The KM85 is a 'cardioid pattern' mic similar to the famous KM84, but with a low frequency rolloff of -12dB at 50Hz. This compensates for the proximity effect of the cardioid pattern allowing the mic to be used up close without requiring low frequency adjustment. Also very useful in outdoor windy locations. The rolloff is achieved by increased tension in the membrane of the capsule, rather than switching circuirtry. This minimises distortion caused by excessive low frequency excursion signals reaching the preamp. The body (preamp) is the same as the KM84 and the capsules are interchangeable. The KK83 omni capsule can also be used.
