DELUXE BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR
UPPER-ARM CUFF TYPE
Desktop Model with Clock, Alarm & 60 Memories
& W.H.O. LED Display of BP Results.
If
you are worried about your blood pressure - but horrified at the price
of blood pressure monitors - worry no more.
My wife suffers from high blood pressure and we've had some anxious moments
when she was pregnant. At one stage she had to go and have her blood pressure
monitored at the hospital 3 times a week. You'd think that we'd buy a
blood pressure monitor for home.
BUT I WAS APPALLED AT THE PRICE
Most pharmacists sell them for about $189.00 - so we didn't bother.
Now, we use these fantastic Avita Brand Arm-Cuff Monitors.
It's so good I had to start selling them!

The
main unit sits neatly on your desk, connected via a heavy duty rubber
air-tube. The orange cuff marker makes sure you have connected the cuff
properly. Look at that reading and you'll understand how I came across
BP Monitors -- I'm off to the doctor!
(And excuse my messy desk and un-ironed singlet.)
How to get an Accurate Measurement in about
20 seconds
Just wrap the pressure cuff around your around your upper arm with the
palm up. Sit down and relax your arm. Rest your arm on the table making
sure the cuff is about the same height as your heart.
Press start and the pressure cuff inflates - and exerts quite some pressure.
A little heart icon flashes on the main display unit which means it has
locked onto your pulse. After about 20 seconds, the cuff has deflated
and your blood pressure rate is given, along with your pulse rate.
THE WHO INDICATOR
The World Health Organisation has published research regarding desired
Blood Pressure readings. This unit has a nifty set of green lights at
the side which light up and give you an indication of where your results
fall in the WHO rating. So you can see below, that this reading of mine
says that I have High Blood Pressure.
(This is almost certainly a result of trying to
maintain my excellent Feedback Rating - my health is suffering, people!)

Here's the control panel and display. Hit the M button to cycle back
through the last 60 Blood Pressure readings that the unit has taken.
LARGER
ARM CUFF AVAILABLE
Most people find the 13' arm cuff size sufficient -- it is designed with
90% of the population in mind but...
If you have larger arms and require a cuff that is up to 18 inches in
diameter, then we have these available upon request for $15.00
extra.
Please contact us after the auction -- or just pay the extra and alert
us by email that you want it and have paid for it!
ARM-CUFF
vs WRIST TYPE MONITORS
A lot of people ask me which type of BP Monitor they should get. Good
question.
It boils down to this.
The arm cuff monitors have several advantages. Firstly, it is generally
agreed that they are easier to use. Secondly, they suit people with larger
arms (or large wrists). Thirdly, it is thought to be easier to get consistent
readings from the upper arm . However, they are significantly more expensive.
Don't get me wrong - the wrist type monitors are great - we sell loads
of them to happy customers. They are reliable, and compact enough to follow
you on all your travels. They are significantly cheaper, too!
We now use the upper-arm monitor for home use - and have the wrist type
ones for travelling - so I sit on the fence and remain unhelpful - sorry!
