DOMESTIC POSTAGE:
All items
posted within the UNITED KINGDOM and NORTHERN IRELAND are posted by either RECORDED
DELIVERY, SPECIAL NEXT DAY DELIVERY, STANDARD PARCELS or FIRST CLASS POST
(First Class Post is used when an item sells at £4.99 or less). Each individual
item description will specify which method of postage will be used. When your
parcel has been posted, I always send a message via the ebay ‘MY MESSAGES’
service. This message will contain your tracking number and details of when
your item was posted.
RECORDED DELIVERY:
This
service provides a tracking number and requires a signature upon delivery. In
the event of any loss, the Recorded Delivery service covers an item up to a
maximum value of £32.00 Please be aware, the Royal Mail only consider an item
as ‘lost’ if it has still not arrived after 15 working days (3 weeks). In the
event of a loss, only the sender is entitled to submit a claim for compensation
and on occasions the Royal Mail will need to get in touch with both the sender
and the receiver. If an item does not arrive, please let me know after 5
working days (1 week) from the date of postage and I will complete all the necessary
paperwork on your behalf and will submit this to the Royal Mail. I can only
issue compensation for lost items when the Royal Mail have concluded their
investigation and have paid me.
SPECIAL NEXT DAY DELIVERY:
This
service provides a tracking number and items can be tracked using the ‘Track
& Trace’ facility at www.royalmail.com
In the event of any loss, the Special Next Day service covers an item up to a
maximum value of £500.00 and this service guarantees a next day delivery. If an
item does not arrive on the guaranteed date, please let me know and I will
complete all the necessary paperwork on your behalf and will submit this to the
Royal Mail. Again, I can only issue compensation for lost items when the Royal
Mail have concluded their investigation and have paid me.
STANDARD PARCELS:
Some
larger items (for example vanity case and holdall bag sets) are posted by
STANDARD PARCELS. Items posted by the ‘Standard Parcel’ service are not covered
by insurance and as a precaution I always obtain insurance to make sure both
you the buyer and myself are covered in the event of any loss.
FIRST CLASS POST:
Items that
sell for £4.99 or less are posted by First Class post. This is not covered by
insurance and a tracking number is not provided. However, a CERTIFICATE OF
POSTAGE is ALWAYS OBTAINED and in the event of a loss I will complete all the
necessary paperwork on your behalf and will submit this to the Royal Mail.
Please be aware the Royal Mail do not usually pay any compensation for lost
First Class mail – Even when a Certificate of Postage is provided as proof that
an item has been posted.
INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE:
In order to comply
with the accepted methods of postage required by Paypal, all International
items are either posted by ‘AIRSURE’ or ‘INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR’ postage. Each individual item description
will specify which method of postage will be used depending on the whereabouts
of the international destination. When your parcel has been posted, I always
send a message via the ebay ‘MY MESSAGES’ service giving you details of when
your item was posted, the tracking number and how to track your item.

does not arrive, then please read the following text taken from the Royal Mail
website, very carefully…
How soon after posting should I consider an
International items to be lost?
When items are sent abroad,
the actual delivery of your items will be the responsibility of the postal
service in the country the
items are going to. Please wait 25 days before submitting a claim for loss of
an international item. This is to allow time for an item to be delivered
overseas - it may have been held at a local delivery office in the destination
country and be waiting for collection or redelivery if no one was at home to
accept the item when delivery was initially attempted. Or the item may not have
been delivered for some reason in which case it will be returned to the sender
in the UK. Royal Mail does however require you to submit your claim form within
6 months from the date the item was posted.
How long will my claim take?
As part of our investigation into a lost item, we may ask the foreign Postal
Authority for details of what happened to your item when in their country. This
process can take up to 15 weeks to complete. When we launch an
investigation with a foreign Postal Authority we will always inform you of this
and will always provide you with details of the outcome.
INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR DELIVERY:
This
service provides a tracking number and is only tracked UP TO THE POINT IT
LEAVES THE UNITED KINGDOM. When the parcel is in the hands of the overseas
postal services, IT WILL NOT BE TRACKED and IS NO LONGER THE RESPONSILIBITY OF
THE ROYAL MAIL (Please read the text above in bold which is taken from the Royal Mail
website). In the event of any loss, the International Signed For service covers
an item up to a maximum value of £32.00 Please be aware, the Royal Mail only
consider an item as ‘lost’ if it has still not arrived after 25 working days (5
weeks). If an item does not arrive, please let me know after 15 working days (3
weeks) from the date of postage and I will complete all the necessary paperwork
on your behalf and will submit this to the Royal Mail.
AIRSURE DELIVERY:
This
service provides a tracking number and items can be tracked all the way until
delivery using the ‘Track & Trace’ facility at www.royalmail.com In the event of any
loss, the Airsure service covers an item up to a maximum value of £32.00
Additional insurance can be taken out if the value of the contents of a parcel
is greater than £32.00 When the parcel is in the hands of the overseas postal
services, IT IS NO LONGER THE RESPONSILIBITY OF THE ROYAL MAIL. Please be
aware, the Royal Mail only consider an item as ‘lost’ if it has still not
arrived after 25 working days (5 weeks). If an item does not arrive, please let
me know after 15 working days (3 weeks) from the date of postage and I will
complete all the necessary paperwork on your behalf and will submit this to the
Royal Mail.
