This item comes from a home in a Papua New Guinea village, it is not a tourist item. Comes with Appraisal that shows authenticity from Harold E. Gallasch of the Tineriba Tribal Gallery (Valour Registered with the Federal Government). Appraisal can be emailed before purchase.
 
A carved wooden mask from the middle Sepik of Papua New Guinea. Height: 77cm, Width 25.5cm.
The mask was carved in the 1960's and painted with some of the locally obtained earth pigments. One of the "spines" on the forehead has small natural crack. Some of the paint has been worn off but we believe it is in 95% natural form. See photos below.
