About This New Design Ultrasonic Cleaner ...

Model Features

  • Lightweight and strong - molded plastic unit chassis, with stainless steel tank - ideal for immediate use and very portable
  • Quality Design - designed to meet Australian regulations for commercial equipment
  • 30 Watts - powerful for its size
  • Digital Display and Push Button Controls - user friendly interface; so simple that any adult could work it
  • 3 Cycle Timer Selections - pick the cleaning duration that meets the job's need (3, 5 or 8 minutes duration)
  • Tank Volume - 550mls
  • Non Slip Base
  • Accessories - built-in hinged cover PLUS watch band cradle, CD/DVD cleaning tower and molded fine-weave cleaning basket
  • Warranty - 6 months return to base repair or replacement warranty, supported by us, right here in NSW, just keep your receipt.  This is double what some Ebay sellers offer - but even if it was the same, did you really want to pay to post the machine overseas for your warranty anyway?

Why Buy This Ultrasonic Cleaner?

  • Units were designed to meet the requirements of Australian commercial operations, and are labelled accordingly.
  • Great complement to your more powerful Liquid Glass Oz stainless steel cleaner.
  • Instant set up and easy to relocate.  Weighing in at only 1kg and being of compact design, it is a breeze to whip out, top up with water, load up with dirty items, and set to work. Cleaning up is a quick rinse off, towel dry and pack away for the next time, or for the trip back home.
  • Fantastic for shorter job runs, where it's just not worth the hassle of getting your larger cleaner out, setting it up, then doing the cleanup afterwards.
  • Affordable pricing.  Our listing price makes it difficult to understand why everyone does not own one of these already.
  • Transparent, hinged tank cover.  Watch as the unit gently cleans your items.
  • Flexibility. Features useful inclusions, like watch band cradle, CD/DVD cleaning tower and fine weave molded basket, opening up a whole world of new cleaning opportunities.
  • Near Silent Running - this will not annoy anyone else in the workplace, or the rest of the family if you've taken work home to finish.

Other Applications

Naturally, besides the items mentioned above, ultrasonics will gently remove difficult to clean surfaces from other types of products as well.  Ultrasonic cleaners are used for a wide variety of applications, from automotive parts, to industrial level cleaning (like printer cartridges) and electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.  They are especially useful when gunk has built up in spots where it cannot be removed by brushing (such as in nozzles and injectors), or where the item to be cleaned is delicate and brushing could damage it.  Most items can be cleaned safely using the ultrasonic cleaning process, but you should always check with the manufacturer or retailer if in any doubt. NB. This model is not designed for consistent or heavy duty use.

User Friendly

It is hard to imagine a more straighforward design.  After adding liquid to the tank, connecting power cord to mains supply and turning power on at the power point, three buttons control the rest:

  • Switch on or turn off POWER to the unit
  • Select the desired TIMER (cleaning cycle), and
  • Press ON to start cleaning.

Ease of Operation

Ease of Operation was a basic design concept we insisted on from the start and this one is the easiest we've ever come across.  All our models do a great job, and they were also designed with simplicity in mind.  That doesn't mean we've shortchanged functionality - just that when you need those additional controls and functions there will be another model for you.  Check out our other larger models if this is what you're after.

The basic instructions are very simple: fill tank to at least 2/3rds with water, insert basket with object to be cleaned, turn on power supply and turn unit on and set timer for desired duration.  For more aggressive cleaning action hot water can be added before turning on power.  A few drops of household detergent will also help - just rinse off in fresh water after cleaning (see below for important warning about jewellery with loose stones below).

NB. If cleaning jewellery with precious stones please be careful.  We have cleaned settings in ultrasonic cleaners thousands of times over the past 25 years, and every now and then the cleaner will dislodge dirt that has been the only thing holding a precious stone into its setting.  This is not the cleaner's fault - it has just done its job, by removing the contamination.  The setting has probably been damaged with normal use and loosened its grip on the stone, so that gentle cleaning was all it took for stone and setting to part company. Remember that it is much better to find a diamond in the bottom of the tank than to lose the stone from its setting on the street and say goodbye to it forever.  This may never happen to you.  But if it does, the solution is to examine any jewellery cleaned in the tank so you can find the precious stone before the tank water is discarded.  You can then take stone and setting to your friendly jeweller to be reset. HINT. If you suspect your jewellery may have a loose stone, or if it is so tiny that it may slip between the weave of the basket, we recommend using a small nylon vegetable sieve,  Just place the items inside the sieve and the sieve inside the basket.  You will contain any loose stones and your jewellery, and you will make it much easier to remove when the cleaning cycle has finished.

Tested and Certified

Each and every unit has been tested in the factory and in our local facility prior to despatch to the customer.  Our products comply with the strict requirements covering commercial electrical equipment used in Australia and they are all proudly displays our C Tick and N numbers.

SOME WORDS OF WARNING

Electrical Safety

Just because an item is labelled CE does NOT necessarily mean it meets Australian regulations for electrical safety. It may not even be legal to be sold here.  Always check that electrical products have a Tick or C Tick.  If you look at common household items like toasters and kettles you will normally find an example.  Another area of concern are appliance power leads and plugs.  Some items from China generally look like the Australian design, and even though they may still work, they do not always have the black insulation covering the plug side on the top two pins.  This has been a legal safety requirement for some years and a product would NOT conform to Australian requirements without it.   NB Many images of China/Hong Kong sourced products will deliberately avoid including clear images of the plugs and leads to be supplied, nor will they show clear images that indicate the presence of the required Tick or C Tick label on the rear or underside of the product.

If you are considering bidding on any electrical item we strongly recommend checking that it meets Australian requirements before you bid. Some listings are quite misleading in this regard.  There is no such thing as a 'World Certificate', however much some sellers would like you to believe otherwise.  We have seen claims regarding items meeting '100% Australian standard', whatever that means.  But we can assure you that if you do not see an image of a C Tick or Tick on the item, or if the seller states that 'it is CE and does not need to pass any Australian regulations', you can assume that it is NOT LEGAL to be sold or safely used here.  Contact your local Department of Fair Trading or licensed electrician for more information.

Overseas Supply Advice

If you buy an item from China, Hong Kong or anywhere else outside Australia, you should be aware that, in effect, you are actually importing it.  Importers of products into Australia have onerous responsibilities under the law, and for good reason.  They assume responsibility for ensuring that products are safe and that they conform to other requirements which apply to items sold in Australia.  It is a dangerous to accept these responsibilities without undertaking the research to guarantee that one's actions are entirely legal.

Importers may also be liable for import duties and applicable GST, on top of the purchase price when the item arrives.  Some suppliers offer to label the product as a 'gift', in order to avoid duty.  Others advise that customs may levy duty on arrival of the item in Australia, and warn that this will be your expense.  Some also imply that GST has already been included in the purchase price - if they do not state that they have an ABN that is a pretty unlikely claim and you can be quietly confident that 1/11 of the purchase price is NOT making its way to the ATO to help fund bushfire relief and other important projects in THIS country.  Without a valid Tax Invoice such a claim will almost certainly be false.  We have asked this question ourselves and the responses have been very evasive.

Most people would realise that marking a product as a gift to avoid duty is illegal and it's a risky business to knowingly be involved.  Plus, you'd have to think that staff from the Australian customs service would be sufficiently switched on to be aware of the practice, and to take action when they spot it.  If you buy from an overseas Ebay member you should realise that the final Ebay price is not necessarily going to be the price you pay.  Once the item arrives in Australia, you may have to pay both GST and applicable duty on its importation.  If it is found by the regulators to be non compliant you may inadvertantly find yourself in breach of Australian law and in some cases subject to fines.  If the product fails and you wish to use the warranty, you will have to pay to send the item overseas and await its return.  If it is marked as 'gift' and customs determine that it is not, there may be GST and duty to pay once again.

What is DOA?

Good question.  DOA stands for Dead On Arrival.  This is a term used by overseas suppliers to descibe an item that customers have paid for and which does not work when they receive it.  The good news is that most overseas suppliers promise to replace any item that they confirm is DOA.  The bad news is that you will first have to pay to send the item back overseas to have it inspected, await an answer, then to await shipment if the supplier agrees it was DOA.  Often when a supplier says that they will make good any DOA this is the limit of their support - there is no commitment to give customers a warranty of any length, which is part of the safety net provided by Australian trade practices law, and which Australian suppliers must observe.

About Liquid Glass Oz - Jewellery Products

Liquid Glass Oz Pty Ltd was established by Aussie brothers Phil and Col Rodrick.  Phil Rodrick had been interested in jewellery making and lapidary since his school days in the 1970s.  He completed his jeweller/diamond setter trades course and qualified as a diamond setter in 1984. He then worked for some of the most highly regarded manufacturing jewellers in Sydney, before striking out on his own.  Now, with a wealth of experience in the industry, Phil knows a good jewellery product when he sees one.

But Phil's also cautious.  Once he found the products he was looking for, he worked with engineers and designers to get the ideal mix of functions and image he was aiming for.  Only after a painstaking process - comprehensively checking the manufacturing processes, quality control, facilities and tackling Australian compliance issues - did he decide to launch the brand.  So now it's up to you to reap the rewards.

In case you are wondering - you will receive a Tax Invoice for your purchase and if you are registered for GST you will be able to claim it back.  Our ABN is 52 126 376 636 and you can easily check our details on the ASIC web site.

Testimonials

Don't take our word for it - read what others have to say.  Well known local jeweller, Steve Brice, has been using Phil's ultrasonic cleaners and other products for ages.  Hundreds of our machines have also been bought by your fellow Ebayers, and others, and are in use, cleaning jewellery, mechanical parts, antique coins, firearms and cartridges, fishing reels and scuba equipment, all around Australia.  We think you will be impressed at the feedback we've received.

I've found the Liquid Glass Oz range of ultrasonic cleaners a really capable performer which gave me great results for all my jewellery cleaning needs.  Congratulations, Phil, on some excellent design work and for your products that are here to last.  I can't wait for your scales to become available. I just loved the samples.  Steve Brice, Jeweller, Ballina NSW

Post Out Service

For this listing there is no pick up service option.  For all our Ebay sales we package up and send as soon as items are paid for.  For this reason it is critical that your postal address on Ebay is up to date, as this is the address we will use to address the parcel.  If you need to change postal address please update your details before the listing closes, or give Col a call on 0439 463 909 or text him details before you pay.    NB Make sure you tell us the Ebay item number or your user name, if you send an SMS.

Worried About Damage in Transit?

We've had quite a few customers ask us about postal insurance and whether they can get it.  All items leave us in good order and that's the way we would normally expect them to arrive. However, if you would like more certainty that your purchase will be fine during its passage through Australia Post you can get full insurance for just $2.50 more.  For those more expensive items it's certainly worth considering.
