 What it does?

The Quickebike is an  add-on box that is designed to maximize the speed of an ebike without upgrading batteries, motor controller or motor. It simply installs between the existing battery and controller. It is designed to work within the 200W power limit set for ebikes in Australia.

The Quickebike will work with 24V or 36V systems. Typically your bike's speed will be increased by 25% ( 36V to 45V is a 25% increase ).

How it works?

The Quickebike acts as a voltage booster allowing more ( current ) power to be applied to the motor for a particular speed than without. Under the right conditions it will maintain the voltage to the controller, 45V for a 36V system, 30V for a 24V system, regardless of the battery voltage. Because the Quickebike boost the voltage to the maximum safe speed for the controller, it allows the maximum speed of the bike to be maintained across the entire discharge of the battery.

More information

The Quickebike does not boost all the time. There are certain conditions where it is passive. This is under low current (100ma) and over current ( > 8A ). The voltage will also reduce so as to maintain a maximum current of 5A under boost. This is what keeps it legal.

So if you have no throttle or if you pedal too hard, the boost will stop. Also if you are climbing a hill and the current draw increases too much, the boost will stop. In this passive mode, performance is identical to not having the Quickebike.

The Quickebike will take more current from the battery when boosting. Theoretically if the voltage is boosted by 10%, the current input is increased by 10%. This is the conservation of energy law and there's no way around it. The Quickebike has an efficiency of around 90%. The Quickebike will most definitely reduce your range - probably around 20%. If your ebike is range challenged, you should not use Quickebike.

No responsibility taken for damage caused by incorrect installation or of exceeding the motor controller's maximum voltage.
