The HAT JACK

Hat Stretcher


You are looking at a brand new, Hat Jack hat Stretcher made by Scala / Dorfman Pacific. Dorfman Pacific was founded in 1921 and has been in business this long because of their commitment to quality products.

Protect your Investment and never wear a pinching hat again - use a "HAT JACK" to store each of your hats - Maintains size by preventing shrinkage and absorbs moisture to preserve Leather Band. Great for Straw or Felt Hats.

Using your "HAT JACK"

1. Lay Hat Jack on flat surface, labels up (wood forms are tapered)

2. Twist Center handle to approximate hat size.

3. Place in hat, labels up, center handle parallel to crease in hat crown.

4. Tighten handle to snug fit - Hat is ready for storage - Always rest hat on crown, brim up.

If size increase is desired.

1. Repeat above steps.

2. Using teapot or pan or pan with lid slightly ajar, boil clean water, then reduce heat to produce steady flow of steam.

3. Holding "HAT JACK" handle, direct steam evenly to outside of band area.

4. Twist handle to stretch hat to desired size while applying steam. Do not over stretch any hat - 1/4 size maximum. Example: 7 to 7-1/4.

5. Allow hat to cool & dry 20 to 30 minutes before removing hat jack.

6. Repeat if hat shrinks until hat maintains desired size & fit.

Medium = 7-1/8 to 7-1/2

Large = 7 1/2 & Up
