A new 5mm padded, fully reflective silver board cover of equivalent quality to the better known brands, but at a fraction of the surf shop price.  You can easily pay double our price elsewhere.

This is one (1 x) 6 ft 6 inch  board cover which will easily fit any regular board up to 6 ft 6 inch, with wider than regular width. If you're our age, and no longer find a regular short board much fun because it's started acting too much like a submarine, we think we've got your ideal cover. Most semi egg/fish style boards should fit no worries, as long as they are not too thick.  As a guide, we designed this cover to suit one of our favourite boards, which is a semi fish made by Marcel at Stonewild Surfboards in Ballina.  The board is 6'5" x 20" x 2 3/8" and it fits perfectly.  We have another board which is for those days when the energy levels are a bit light on - it's a 6'6" x 20" x 3" and it just fits.  Depending on how accurate your board shaper is, a board marked the same dimensions may or may not fit.  Phil and I suggest you take our semi fish dimensions as the safest which the cover will suit.

What won't fit:

• Steve, a customer, just asked us to try a 6'4" x 21 1/4" x 2 1/2".  Coincidentally, we had a very fat, stubbie designed fish, with quad fin set up and round nose, that local shaper Phil Myers made.  Try as we might there was no way we could get it even half way in.  This demo proves the truth of our words above - these board covers are made for extra wide fitting - BUT they are not intended for a true fish - semi, sure; any standard shortboard, yep, but not for a seriously fat fish.
• We tried our trusty fallback 6'8" but it's way too long for the cover, so if your board is over 6'6" you'll need to jump to our next size up - the 7'0".  Obviously, the 7'0" board cover will have plenty of space to fit your wettie, towel, boardies, as well as your board.  Winter seems a long way off, but when it returns you and your car will appreciate having a board cover that keeps the water away from the upholstery.  Otherwise three long months of cold weather - perfect for growing mould and mildew.  Hmmm....just the trick when it's too cold to open the car windows to get some fresh air.

The board cover is designed for Australian heat and with roof top travel in mind.  If you've ever driven to your favourite surf break, only to find that molten wax has made your board become one with its cover, you'll know why seasoned surfers only use fully reflective covers for their boards. If you're travelling by plane you will find that the 5mm padding minimises damage from careless baggage handlers, while the cover will also reduce the risk of damage to your car's interior, if you're carting it inside.

This board cover has generous internal measurements.  You can forget about removing and replacing fins because this board cover is big enough for your thruster set up or the new quad style fins.  If you've got fixed fins then this board cover will be a Godsend.
