This is unlisted by Wooders or Startup, I am still waiting for a reply from Wooders which can take time as to the value of this postmark.

In the meantime turn to the good old Postage Stamps of New Zealand Volume 111 ( an absolute must for anyone who has any serious interest of New Zealand Stamps, this deals mainly with the cancelations) Chapter 16 page 239 to  277 deals with the conveyance of mails by sea, an extensive study for the serious collecter, on page 263 is an example of this postmark and exactly the same date, #7, information is that it was brought into service about 1894 and differed from earlier datestamps, with more information but was replaced late 1896 by a more detailed datestamp, so for the short period it was used it has to be rare.

Saturday 31st Oct, a friend has just sent me information from an old NZ 1958 catalogue and this one was listed at ten pounds then.
