These photos are not retouched and not to promote sale, but they are hard facts to minimize hassles and misunderstanding. Please examine all photos since they complement the item description. Moreover, inspection before bidding is welcome.

The unit is in Very Good condition with some imperceptible signs of use and only slight paint loss on the lens hood (please examine photos). No fungus nor scratches on the lens elements although some amount of dust is visible, but I didn't notice any reduction in image quality produced by this lens. The built-in lens hood snaps firmly in place without wobble. I believe this is the late release circa year 2000 demonstrated by the late serial number 2659xx (see photo 6 at aperture ring). All functions work perfectly (it was tested before listing and will be tested again before packing and shipping). It is always stored in an air-tight box with a few dehumidifier sachets. That it is seldom used is the major reason for sale.

This lens is full frame so it can be used with 35 mm film, FX, and DX (aka APS-C) cameras. It also has aperture ring so using it with manual film camera (FM series, FE series, etc) is a breeze. However it doesn't have built-in motor so the non-motor digital bodies such as Nikon D40, D40X, D60, D5000, and D3000 will not autofocus with this lens (use manual focus instead).
