We designed this bicycle horn/siren with the commuter or road bike enthusiast in mind. It is small and powerful weighing only 11 ounces. Hence the name "The Noisy Cricket." This siren is smaller than the Police/Security siren that we are also am selling here on eBay and at www.Biketac.com. This little unit produces a very loud, 117db +/- 3db warble sound. This will get the attention of other cyclists, pedestrians, and motorists. This siren has been tested on the streets and bike paths of Klamath Falls, Oregon and has proven to be very effective. The sound, although very loud, does not carry as far as the larger and heavier Police Bicycle Siren. Siren size is 2" diameter and 2 3/4 in length.
The Noisy Cricket siren is identical in design and operation as the Police, EMS, Security Bicycle Siren except it is smaller. It comes equipped to operate on a 9 volt battery (not included) but can be wired directly into any 6-15 volt DC battery source. The 9 volt battery box attaches to any location using the supplied hook and loop fastener. A momentary push button switch is mounted to the handle bar within thumb reach. Instructions and hardware included. The pictured siren mounts to the rear bike rack or to any other location of your choosing.
