This popular kit was developed in the workshops of our 'Bulahdelah Alum & Timber Company'. After numerous requests for more structure kits, we have re-released this attractive and versatile 'cottage' kit to accompany our other popular structure kits.

Our kit offers the following traditional features: 

• real wood, 'plank on frame' construction
• a planked timber verandah
• traditionally pitched corrugated iron roof
• hardwood slab timber and iron chimneys
• individually fixed weather-boards
• 'glazeable' double hung colonial windows
• (adjustable) hardwood slab doors
• we've even included the 'fire'
  • 2 x 12v DC lamps & connector included!
• base plate included
• actual 1:1 template plans for ease of construction
• lumber for studs & noggins
• metal corrugted iron sheets included
  

Note: We are currently developing a series of Mill Worker's Huts which will be available later this year. In the interim, this larger more imposing structure is the first of our rural 'accommodation' series of buildings. Use it as a Mill Manager's Cottage or a typical rural Farm House.

Prototype History:

Our Mill Manager's Cottage is based on a prototype late 1800s cottage found near the historic gold mining village of Hill End in the Central Western region of New South Wales.  

The weather-board cottage features a corrugated iron roof fixed over the original shelter of split shingle. Weather-board cottages we built once sawn timber (ie: weather-boards) became available.
