Prototype History:

The Crow River 1:48, O scale (or On30) yard crane is based on several US prototypes found in the New Haven area. The crane was electrically powered with a heavy duty DC motor operating the winding mechanism and a lighter double reduction electric motor/gearbox operating the 360 degree slewing mechanism. Several cranes had cabs fitted over the operator's platform.
