This is an absolutely beautiful piece of kenyan art which I purchased at a gallery showing. This piece is not just a carving but is a recognition of the artists family tree blood line with fine detailing. The sculpture has been carved in heavy ebony timber by a member of the Makonde tribe. There is a piece broken off from the back of the sculpture due to a house move however it does not deter from the beauty of the carving. This has been a talking point in my home many times but i am changing my decor and hope this piece goes to good hands. I purchased the art for $2600. The carving measures 56cm high by 15cm wide so it is of considerable size. Thank you for looking.
