ORIGINAL VINTAGE FRENCH FIGURAL FLORAL CUSHION PILLOW 2
This beautifully detailed country style pillow is original vintage French........the only thing we have done is to make a feather and down inner.......it is not a Renaissance Textiles creation......and is just as found.....it has been in storage and never used - and is one of four listed! If you want a matching pair (where the design patterns are identically positioned) pillow 1 and 2 are a true pair as are pillow 3 and 4). Made from heavyweight printed cotton with a pale gold / white flecked linen backing, the design shows a cartouche of a gentleman resting his head in his hands whilst he chats to a lady collecting flowers with her tethered goat, a scene that reminds me of a fable detail by the French poet and dramatist Jean De La Fontaine (1621-95).............the scene is surrounded by gorgeous florals including roses, foliage and curvenilier forms on a pink ground. The pillow cover closes with an envelope style flap so that the feather and down inner can be removed prior to laundering if the need should arise. No trim required for this pillow, it's beauty is in it's simplicity. A stunning cushion that will work in many room settings including cottage, vintage and floral themed rooms. It's a beautiful decorative accessory created entirely from old textiles that will add character and timeless beauty to your home. CONDITION REPORT: Very good / excellent vintage condition with no holes or tears, clean and with no odours. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS: 15 inches square with a top quality waxed cambric feather and down inner custom made for this cushion by renaissance-textiles. Waxed cambric is a strong casing that contains the feather and down and prevents the feathers escaping.
