of old Carlton Ware for your consideration.

Description　

This bowl is shaped in crucible style. The allover cobalt blue colour is the predecessor of the Bleu Royale range which went on to be made for many years. To the best of my knowledge, this bowl was produced between 1918 (when the lustre range was introduced) and 1927 (which is the last year for this particular backstamp - see the 4th. photo).

This little sweetheart has a modern look about it, yet it is at least 82 years old.

The bowl has a diameter of 15cm, and is nearly 7cm high. Condition is very good. Stamped under the base is the Swallow with "W & R Stoke on Trent, Carlton Ware, Made In England" in black. There is no other pattern number, shape number or registered number.

I have not found any cracks or chips or worn glaze or crazing. Just a little gilding wear (top rim) and very slight wear on the base rim underneath. Three tiny marks within the bowl were made in the production process.

This bowl is beautiful, and in top shape. I don't think it has done a day's work in its life. Buyer will not be disappointed.
