Thanks to John for the following update:

Just a note to let you know that the bike in the picture of the the H-D with admirers is most likely a 1916 J model.

J model as this was the designation for the electrically equipped 61 cu. in. bikes (note elec. headlight, horn, and battery box under the seat), and 1916 as the bike has the rounded oblong tanks instead of the '15 and previous varieties' squared-off ones and appears to be painted in the pre '17 "Silent Grey Fellow" light grey paint scheme (as best as can be determined from a BW photo anyway).

A little extra info...the designation "JD" has come to be used as a blanket term for all the old H-D pocketvalve models from the 'teens through '29 when it actually refers to a specific model, that being the '21 through '29 electrically equipped 74 cu. in. bikes. Also of note is the sidecar which is equipped with the rare top and side curtains yet...extremely cool! I hope this has been of some interest and assistance. Cheers!
