The bright F2.8 lens offers a focal length equivalent to 38 - 380 mm on a conventional 35 mm camera and is further boosted with a digital zoom to give an incredible combined performance of 27x! For accurate compositions, this CAMEDIA model also utilizes an advanced electronic viewfinder that displays exactly the same image being captured by the camera's premium 2.1-million pixel 1/2.7-inch CCD. Multimedia capabilities, manual controls and numerous metering options add to this model's impressive feature list. The high-power, yet extremely compact 10x optical zoom lens system was especially developed by Olympus for use in this digital camera and enables an astonishing amount of versatility for ambitious photographers. When coupled with the 2.7x digital zoom, up to 27x magnification, which is freely adjustable, can be exploited. Easy and accurate framing of subjects is not only assured by the camera's 3.8 cm color TFT monitor, the CAMEDIA C-700 Ultra Zoom is also equipped with an electronic viewfinder, providing SLR functionality and more. On top of displaying exactly what will be recorded, the viewfinder also shows full photographic data to constantly keep the user completely informed. An assortment of light metering systems assists photographers to get the most out of every situation. The ambiance of individual scenes can be captured perfectly utilizing either digital ESP, spot or multi-spot metering. Exposure may be controlled with a variety of special modes extending from full automatic to manual. The Aperture and Shutter Priority modes let the user choose the desired F-value or shutter speed respectively and automatically take care of the remaining exposure variables. Manual mode, meanwhile, permits scope for the greatest creativity - allowing photographers to freely nominate required aperture settings and shutter speeds of up to 16 seconds. Several pre-set shooting mode options make it effortless even for the more inexperienced user to take superb photos with this CAMEDIA innovation.
