Original (NOT a copy) 1967 concert poster for Big Brother and the Holding Company at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA, Aug 24 thru 27, 1967. Janice Joplin was the lead singer for this group. Size is 13 and 1/2 by 19 inches. Glossy printing. Also featured and named on the poster are Bo Didley, Bukka White, The Salvation Army Band, and North American Ibis Alchemical Co. The poster artist was Bob Fried.
In used condition with nail holes, weather staining from being posted outdoors, and the bottom inch has been trimmed off, maybe to fit a frame (originally was 13 1/2 by 20 inches) but probably to cut off a ragged portion, which still shows some damage on the bottom edge. Will be shipped flat.
This is a terrific original poster and is a wonderful souvenir of those days. It is shown in front of a black background in some photos to show the edges better. Backside is also shown.
Satisfaction is guaranteed. Absolutely guaranteed to be an original poster, not a reproduction.
