The original spring base has a sheet of chipboard added to top for stiffening under its old (disposed of) mattress. The springs have tighteners as shown in photo, but would need extra refurbishing. The bedhead is flat and would lend itself to being upholstered.The bed end has a lovely sleigh profile, but as seen in close up, there is a bit of damage to the veneer, this top edge section I reckon could be upholstered to match the head, the rest would just need a light sand and recoat clear. The frame is steel and the whole bed dismantles to 5 pieces - head, end, base, and 2 side frame sections.
