Original Heals Limed Oak English 3'6" Single Bed

Description:
This is a lovely original early 20th Century "Heals" limed oak 3'6" English large single bed bestead.  The bed bears the label "Heals - Tottenham Court Road, London W1" label.  The bed has a canted and panelled head and footboard, standing on turned bun feet rising over which is a decorative frieze with a moulded edge with a lovely medullary rayed oak veneered panel with raised mouldings with canted corners and a matched canted frame with an ogee moulding.  The bed comes complete with its original vono rails. The bed has no slats or divan base but it would be easy to have slats fitted or alternatively have a shallow divan base fitted on the rails. The bed retains its original light limed oak finish.  A beautiful quality large single bed.

The bed dates from the early 20th Century.

Condition:
The bed is in good condition for its age, with minor wear consistent with age and use adding to character and authenticity.
