Description

This beautiful antique two piece silk dress was found in a box of antique fabric I bought at auction for doll costuming. It needed just a little tlc which I have done to bring it back to life for another doll to wear. The skirt especially is a little grubby with age but as this is mostly covered by the jacket/overdress it does not show, the jacket/overdress is cleaner, I have not attempted to clean the dress and the fabric is just starting to crack in a few places as can be seen in the close up photo of the sleeve but over all it is in very good condition for its age. It is not couture made more home made but lovely nonetheless. It is a fully lined long jacket/overdress decorated with a lace panel and large ribbon bow, the hem of the jacket/overdress is trimmed with silk fringing and there is a simple skirt.

I would estimate this dress fits a 23" body / 28" doll, the complete ensemble is approx 18" from the skirt hem to the shoulder, the skirt alone being 11" long from the hem to the waist, the jacket is 7" across the shoulders, the 3/4 sleeves are 7 1/2" long and the cuff is 3 1/2" wide.
