This rare collectable snuff box, made of papier maché, looks from the costume to be early 19th century.  The text reads: " So Sir you don't admire extremes of fashion, what do you think of Short Petticoats?"  " That fashion your Ladyship may carry as high as you please".  It measures 7.5cm diameter x 2cm.

It is need of restoration but the illustration is undamaged and in good condition.  The work needed is to the black rims, top and base.   I prefer to leave this kind of restoration to a professional.
