This piece originating from Operation Linebacker II, 1972, Bombing missions over Hanoi, North Vietnam. Operation Linebacker II continued out of Thai Air bases from September 1972 through March 1973.
Operation Linebacker Operation Linebacker was the US Military's response to the March 30, 1972 commencment of the Viet Cong Easter Offensive. Operation Linebacker I, such was it's success was followed later in the year, in September 1972 by Operation Linebacker II. The objective of the Operation Linebacker Missions was to;
