This book traces the lives of two Lithuanians who rebel against German and Russian occupation and through terrorist acts attempt to right the wrongs of that invasion across Europe.

Two Lithuanian youths get caught up in the occupation of their homeland by German troops during World War II and the subsequent replacement of those troops by Russian forces in the war's aftermath.  The youths embark on a sustained program of retaliation through the evil of terrorism.

When they attack two innocent tourists they set off a chain reaction that spans three decades, involves law enforcement agencies from a number of countries and sees them link forces with a branch of the Italian mafia.  The common enemy becomes the United States of America which had pledged assistance world-wide to regions of oppression but had been slow to deliver in its promise.

The final acts are played out in Rome, involving relatives of those two tourists and attempts by the Lithuanians to blow up the American Embassy.
