We use Holden Delco software to recalibrate genuine Holden memcals - resulting in the best possible improvements to an already efficient system.

The memcals in this auction will suit VR, VS and VT V6 engines and the VS supercharged engine.  A comprehensive list of vehicles can be found below in our FAQs.

Each one of our performance chips are written specifically to the model of the car and the requirements of the buyer.  We are also able to program for either increased power or increased fuel economy upon request.

 Performance gains vary between different models and engine condition.  Our estimate is a gain of about 8-12 kws using standard fuel and a gain of about an extra 2% using premium fuel.

Economy gains will also vary between different models and engine condition.  Our conservative estimate is 40-50kms (V6) extra to the tank but we would expect up to 100kms in some models.   Bottom line is that EVERYONE will experience a fuel saving even in a stock, standard, unmodified car.

Both premium and standard fuel can be used with the memcal.  Improved fuel economy will still be experienced using either fuel, however, we recommend premium fuel for the best possible results in power and economy.

Do not be concerned about using premium fuel. The improved engine efficiency with the premium fuel means that you will get even more kms out of a tank so it will pay for itself very quickly !  It ends up costing you nothing!!

 Maximum gains as stated (and sometimes higher) will be achieved when your memcal is fitted along with a good quality, free flowing exhaust system and cold air intake (cold air intakes also available from this seller).

We state average/conservative figures for auction purposes.  Greater gains have been achieved by our buyers and are dependent on Engine condition and quality.

N.B. Greater short term power gains can also be achieved by adding excessive ignition timing to your program and leaning off fuel.  WE DO NOT DO THIS .  This WILL cause long term DAMAGE to your engine by creating higher combustion temperatures and pre-ignition (pinging).  Our memcals will get the maximum power out of your engine without destroying it.  We are not interested in making a quick buck to the detriment of your engine.  We are an established seller and we are here for the long term. We will sell you a good quality program with good, safe and REALISTIC power gains with increased fuel economy.

These memcals are NOT suitable for engines where major internal modifications have been carried out - such as cams, cylinder head modifications or change of injectors. 

The memcals will also NOT suit supercharged or turbo engines (with the exception of the factory supercharged VS -  providing it is using standard boost). 

 If you have major engine modifications or a supercharger/turbo your memcal must be programmed at real time on the dyno.   This is the only way to do it correctly.

IMPORTANT:

As each memcal is specific to the buyer's engine, buyers will need to supply the following details upon purchase:-

- model

- year

 - transmission type (manual or auto)

- any modifications made to the vehicle

 NB - PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY

To keep costs down these chips are sold on an "changeover basis".    A changeover sale is when the buyer exchanges his original memcal for the newly programmed one.  The changeover sale works as follows:

 - the buyer is charged an extra $40 refundable security deposit on top of the sale price.  This refundable security deposit is for the changeover memcal.

- upon receipt of full payment including the refundable security deposit the newly programmed memcal will be mailed to the buyer

- once the buyer has received and installed the newly programmed memcal, the buyer will need to send the standard memcal from the car as a changeover to the seller

- when memcal is received the $40 deposit will be refunded immediately via the same payment method used by the buyer i.e. if initial payment was made by paypal, deposit will be refunded by paypal and so on...

Buyers completing Checkout themselves will need to add the $40 to the seller's additions and discounts section of the invoice.

This method saves the buyer the inconvenience of having the car off the road while the memcal/chip  is in transit.  The buyer has the option of purchasing the memcal outright by not sending the standard chip in changeover.  In this case the $40 security deposit will simply not be refunded.  You will not be charged anything further for unreturned memcals.

COMMON FAQs:

How does it work?  - We adjust the baseline fuel and ignition parameters of the controlling software to optimise engine efficiency and to suit today's conditions and fuels.  We also use Holden updated programs and service updates released after the vehicle was built for further benefits.

My car is on lpg? Will this work? - We actually have a range of memcals to suit lpg and dual fuel.  Please check our other items for sale.

How does it save fuel? - When the fuel and ignition parameters of the engine are adjusted, the engine becomes more efficient and burns cleaner.  The addition of the service fixes and updated Holden programs also increase the effects.  The fitting of a cold air intake also increase the saving (available from seller)

Will it damage my engine? - No, because we will not perform excessive adjustments to your program.  Our memcals are 100% safe and will give cleaner emissions.

How hard is it to fit?  Can I fit it myself? - The chip is a straight plug in to the ecu/pcm.  It is simply a matter of locating the ecu, removing the inspection cover, unplugging  the existing memcal and replacing it with your new performance memcal.  Even the novice will be able to fit within 10 minutes.

Why is it so cheap? - Our memcals are sold online only so there are few overheads meaning we can pass the savings on to you.  The performance memcal we supply is the equivalent of any major name in the market, if not better.

WARNING:

When making the decision to purchase performance chip for your car we recommend that you carefully consider your options.  We recommend that you be wary of:

The mod chip – this is simply a cheaply priced, small resistor fitted to a temperature sensor in order to trick the system into thinking that it has a lower? Engine temperature than it really does.  In turn the engine management system makes adjustments to the fuel system accordingly.  In most cases this adjustment is to richen the system or to lean it.  This is a cheap and nasty shortcut, it does not work correctly and is dangerous to your engine.  Buyers should not trust any modification that tricks the engine management system rather than programming the parameters correctly.

The eprom – these are cheap IC units that are available in any hobby store.  An eprom is recognisable as it comes without a carrier or a cover and needs to be re-soldered into your standard chip. They are reflashed using mostly copied programs that are freely available to download from the internet.   In most cases these are copied programs that are generic to a wide range of models rather then being specifically programmed to suit a particular model.  As one chip does not suit a wide range of models but must be programmed specifically according to the model, we recommend that buyers again be careful if planning to make such a purchase. If a seller is selling many eproms for many different makes/models then you can be fairly certain these are the copied programs to which we are referring.  The cost and difficulty of de-soldering your current eprom and ther re-soldering the new eprom will usually end up costing more than to simply buy a custom performance chip and plug it in.  One must also consider that the risk of damage to your car's computer by installing the eprom is very high.  Buyers will naturally find that the stated power gains will not be achieved.  In short, buyers will get what they pay for - very little or  even worse, costly repair bills down the track.

Overstated power gains -  Be wary of sellers offering inflated power gains and high figures to dazzle you. There is still a limit to what the performance chip can do. Greater gains than those stated by us can only be achieved by carrying out internal engine modifications at, of course, a much higher cost.

Postage Policy:

For payment by bank deposit:  We check our bank account daily and usually mail items within 2-3 business days of verification of your payment.  Verification means that we can see and identify your payment as an individual transaction online.  We generally do not advise verification of payment as the time between verification and despatch is usually so short.

For payment by PayPal:  We usually mail items within 2-3 business days of receipt of your PayPal payment.  Despatch time can also vary depending on the time of day a PayPal payment is made i.e.  a payment made after 4-5pm would be carried over to the next business day.
