All Contender lever drags feature 4 stainless steel bearings, lightweight corrosion resistant graphite frame, stainless steel pinion gear and reel foot, cold forged and anodised aluminium spool and a smooth multi-disc drag system with Tritek washer. Tritek is a specially formulated hybrid material which offers a combination of smoothness, power, durability and low startup inertia to the Contender drag system. The Contender series also feature the On/Off Smart Click ratchet system, the system sounds a loud click only when the line pays out and is silent when winding the handle.
