PABLO PICASSO 1881-1973

This outstanding Limited Edition Facsimile Etching is from the edition published by Albert Skira in 1970, with the approval of Picasso.

In the 1920's Skira commissioned Picasso to create a series of etchings to illustrate 'Les Metamorphoses' by Ovid. Thirty etchings were created, 15 full page and 15 as half page chapter headers.

Picasso took several years to complete this work and they were published in 1931. The resulting publication is considered as a landmark illustrated book of the 20th Century. The etchings are considered as the finest works from Picasso's Neoclassical period. The book was not bound, the pages being laid in a boxed format. The edition was limited to 145 copies.

In 1970 Skira and Picasso published a facsimile edition in the same format as the 1931 edition. This edition was limited to 3000 copies.

This superb image is full page, blank verso and in excellent condition. It comes with a copy of the Justification Du Tirage and a copy of the Title page.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - US$22 for an item costing up to US $500. Add US$2 per hundred, for insurance on items over US$500.
AUSTRALIAN BUYERS - A$12 registered mail for an item costing up to A$300. Add A$1.10 per hundred over A$300.
NOTE: I am not responsible for items lost or damaged in the mail, for this reason all items are sent with full postal insurance. Refund will be available when the insurance claim is processed.

RETURNS

1. The items may be returned for a full refund, less shipping charges, if not as described.
2. We must be advised of your intention to return an item within seven (7) days of receipt.
3. The item must be returned via insured priority mail and must be received in the same condition as it was sent by us.
